Secrets of a Successful Affiliate Website

I don’t know if you know what affiliate marketing is, so it would be wise for me to start with a quick explanation.Affiliate Marketing is a simple online revenue generating system where you have the opportunity to promote other people’s products online. You simply sign up to an affiliate program (which is free), grab your referral links…and then you promote the product/service you wish.
What if you can make a 5-6 figure income from Affiliate Marketing? Imagine what it would be like to log into your affiliate program account every week and seeing those big commissions?
Now I would like to help you experience that by providing you with a simple step-by-step layout of what you need to do to achieve those results.
*10 Steps to creating a successful affiliate website*:
1. Choose a niche
This should be something you are familiar with since you’ll have more passion for the work you are doing. Go to Google and enter a view basic keywords about your topic. Now look out for the sponsored ads. If there are 8 or more ads…then you have a winning topic! The sponsored ads indicate that the market/topic is profitable so that you can go into it with confidence.
2. Find Affiliate Programs
Go to Google and search for “your topic + affiliate program”. Do the search without the quotes. You’ll find loads of affiliate programs. Alternatively you can join a affiliate network like ClickBank or Commission Junction. They list hundreds of affiliate programs in their database and are free to join.
3. Choose a product to promote
Always choose a product that is of high value and which has proven conversion stats. Ask your merchant for the conversion stats. 1% conversions are usually good. Anything higher than that is a sure winner.
4. Analyze the Merchant sales page
It’s vital that the sales page of the product is GOOD, since this is where the selling happens. Make sure there are enough testimonials and that the overall pitch entices YOU to buy.
5. Get the product for yourself
This is very important. If the product is digital…tell the merchant to give you a copy for advertising purposes. Tell them what your plan is and ask them if they can provide you with a review copy or trial membership so you can write a compelling pre-sell. If it’s a physical product like herbal supplements…ask for a trial offer to be shipped to you. If it’s heavy duty equipment, try to find a local store that stocks the product and take pictures of it. It will look like you “experienced” the product and will add credibility.
6. Build your site
Your website will be aimed at providing content. You will write web pages that are optimized for certain keywords so that you rank in Google. The content on the site has to be relevant to the product you are pushing. Update your site at least 3 times a week with new content. Adding 2 new pages of content a day should be what you really need to aim for.
7. Promote only ONE product/service
When you look at your site, you should be able to see a clear recommendation from yourself. This means that throughout your entire website, you should promote only one product. Think about it…would it be wise to promote 4 different acne products on a acne related website. No it wouldn’t. You want to push only one. Obviously reviewing the best one next to mediocre ones is a way to go.
8. Build a list
Get an autoresponder set up, create a squeeze page and capture subscriber information. When somebody clicks to order the affiliate product, take them to a squeeze page where you offer them something for free like a free PDF report. Give them the option of either opting in or just skipping. Either way they should be directed straight to the merchant landing page.
9. Use media
Video has a powerful effect on people. The fact is…people watch videos, even if the video sucks. So create videos on your subjects and submit them to the video sites and include a backlink to your site so you can increase your rankings. Create videos for your website and embed them into your pages. Talk about your recommended product…heck even mention the content in the article they are about to read. Your website’s stickiness will go through the roof.
10. Outsource
Once you start to see a significant income from your website, it’s time to make it expand at a rapid rate. Why? Because you now know it’s profitable. To achieve this you need to outsource difficult tasks. Go to Google and search “Outsourcing” or “content outsourcing” etc. Fact is…if you get other people to do tedious jobs you can start a new project and then DOUBLE your income. Putting everything on autopilot will be your ultimate goal in the end.
